Work Experience
Drake University Communications
Marketing and Photography Intern – September 2022 – Present
Created content that followed Drake University’s style guide and brand. The content was created for digital use, like social media, email banners, and websites, and for print, like posters, pamphlets, and postcards. Photographed and edited photos from Drake events and headshots that would be used for marketing and social media.
Iowa Wild Hockey
Communications Intern – February 2021 – June 2022
Worked closely with the Manager of Media Relations to write post-game recaps, update Iowa Wild stats, brainstorm, and assist in social media creation. Completed interviews with players and coaches and managed away game broadcasts.
Johnson Consulting Services
Digital Media Intern – May – August 2021
Worked closely with the owner to create videos for online courses and promotions. Edited audio, podcasts, and business website. Created social media content and held a 2-day shoot to get photos and video content for future projects. Created and edited over 20 projects in three months.
Carmicheal Lynch
Studio Intern – May – August 2022
Created and edited digital and print advertisements for Carmichael Lynch and their clients. Assisted the Studio team in creating engaging ads that followed each client’s district brand identity and image. Worked mainly in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
Drake Student Alumni Association
Social Media Specialist – 2021
Utilized different media platforms to engage audiences, promote events and get people involved. Assisted the Creative Director with content creation and concepts for social media accounts to promote and engage users.
Drake Magazine
Assistant Online Editor – September 2019 – May 2020
The Drake Magazine is a student-run publication based at Drake University. The magazine covers a wide variety of topics aimed towards college-age students but is not restricted to just Drake students. Assisted the executive editor by editing stories for online articles.

Varsity Theatre Research
Fall 2022 | Advertising Account Planning
Worked in a group of five to complete primary and secondary research about the target market of a local theatre in Des Moines. Since the theatre is right next to Drake University, research focused on Drake students and their movie going behaviors and preferences. Research provided insights on future advertising and programming created in the following semester.
I Love Photography
Spring 2019 | VANTAGE
I Love Photography is a small business in Hopkins owned by Elaine Geopfert. My group and I created a promotional video for social media and her website centered around the idea that we all love the same. This statement is something Elaine is truly passionate about and wanted to showcase this in the video. As the communications director for this project, I was in close contact with Elaine throughout and learned to effectively communicate my ideas through email.
North American Pond Hockey Championship
Winter 2018 | VANTAGE
The North American Pond Hockey Championship is an annual charity event that takes place on Lake Minnetonka outside a local restaurant Maynard’s. A group and I created a highlight video of the day event to attract sponsors for future tournaments.
Bloom Early Learning and Childcare
Fall 2018 | VANTAGE
Bloom Early Learning is a child daycare center that aims at providing everyone with the highest level of childcare for everyone. They offer 50% of spots to low-income families and pay through scholarships. My group and I created a promotional video for a new site opening in May 2019. As the project leader, I had directed and aided my group members throughout the progression of the project.
Des Moines Refugee Support Campaign
Spring 2022 | Copywriting and Content Design
Worked in a group of three to create advertising pieces for a local non-profit’s event over the summer. Video, email, social and mail out marketing were all utilized to target the right audience invited to the event.
Jon Schindel Pickle Blog
Spring 2019 | VANTAGE
Created a showcase video about Jon Schindel, a Minnesota State Fair first place winner for his pickles. Pickle making has become a family and neighborhood tradition for Jon and this video looks into his inspiration and process.
The Upper Midwest Emmy’s
Winter 2018 | VANTAGE
The Upper Midwest Emmy’s is an organization dedicated to creating an exceptional video in television. A group created a highlight real featuring the annual award ceremony at Radisson Blue.
